Travel grant for participants other than from South East Asia & Pacific countries

LIMITED TARVEL GRANTS (To be announced) for GAF9 participants



LIMITED TRAVEL GRANTS (details to be announced shortly) will be open to participants to attend GAF9 from countries, other than South-East Asia and Pacific.

Preference will be given to those who:

  • are intending to make an oral or poster presentation
  • can support GAF9 conference as rapporteurs or as social media posters

The sponsorship will be partial and can be used to cover return economy airfares, ground transport, conference registration and/or accommodation.


How to Apply:

  1. All applicants for GAF9 travel grant must submit an online application along with an extended abstract to the email address gafsconference@gmail.com by 20 June 2025
  2. In applying for sponsorship, you will be required to provide the following information, using the attached form:
    • Your name, gender, designation and position, institution, country, email address
    • Title of abstract and session accepted for presentation at GAF9
    • Extended abstract of about 2,000 words
    • A short statement as to why you need support to attend GAF9
    • A short statement as to why participating in GAF9 will benefit your work
    • An estimated budget of all expenses to attend GAF9


Additional Information:

Return airfares and certain other approved travel costs will be reimbursed on completion of conference participation; accommodation and conference registration costs will be paid directly on behalf of the participant.


Timeline:

20 June 2025 Last date for grant applications
21 June 2025 Committee to begin review of grant applications
30 June 2025 Grantees notified of outcome
7 July 2025 Grantees confirm acceptance of grants and attendance at GAF9
1-3 Oct 2025 GAF9, AIT, Thailand
3 Oct 2025 Reimbursement of agreed expenses as per grant document
