CALL FOR Special Sessions/ Panels/ Roundtables/ Workshops

The 9th Global Conference on Gender in Aquaculture and Fisheries (GAF9) on the theme “Transforming aquaculture and fisheries for gender justice” will be held from 1-3 October 2025 at the Asian Institute of Technology, Pathum Thani, Thailand.

We are excited to announce the Call for Special Sessions. As the pioneering gathering in the field of gender and aquaculture and fisheries, we invite experts and researchers to propose engaging and insightful topics for in-depth discussion.

We encourage the use of different formats for special sessions including panel discussions, debates, roundtables, workshops as well as other non-conventional formats. Each special session will be 90 minutes in length and all special sessions will be scheduled within the conference.

NOTE

All panelists and moderators are required to register for the conference.

DATES TO REMEMBER

• Date open for submission of Special Session proposal: 01 November 2024
• Last date for submission of Special Session proposal: 31 March 2025
• Notification of acceptance: 30 April 2025

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Special session proposals should include the following:

1. Title of the Special Session

2. Format

3. Purpose

4. Chair/moderator

5. Participants: Name, title and abstract for each presentation

6. Affiliations, contact information and short biographies of each participant (150 words max. per person)

7. Any specific physical or technical requirements for the local hosts
